Shulan Zhang is Director of the Center for South Asian Studies in Shandong University.
She got her Doctor Degree from History Department of Peking University in June 2002.
From December 2010, she has been a full Professor of School of Political Science andPublic Administration, Shandong University.
She is also a member of Chinese Federation of South Asian Studies and a member of theInternational Association of Asian Scholars .
As a Chinese scholar, she was a Senior Associate Membership of St Antony’sCollege, Oxford University，UK, from 1stOctober, 2006 to 30th September, 2007. She was also an Asian Fellowship, aVisiting Scholar in the Center for East Asian Studies, School of InternationalStudies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, from January 19th 2008 to July17th 2008.
She has been teaching the courses of Global History, Politics and Diplomacy of theThird World for B.A students. For postgraduates, she has been teaching thecourses of Diplomacy of Contemporary China, Issues of Modern InternationalRelations and Issues of South Asian Politics and Diplomacy.
She has been learning and mainly doing research on South Asia since 1999,especially on politics, economy and diplomacy of India. Moreover, Environmentalpolitics and Party politics have also been her specific fields of research.
She has published two Chinese monographs, more than thirty articles in Chinese CoreJournals, also has translated and published one English book and two Englisharticles into Chinese.
